De 30-jarige Runnels werkt sinds 2006 voor WWE en debuteerde in 2007 op het main roster. De laatste jaren vertolkte Runnels, de zoon van de legendarische Dusty Rhodes, het weinig succesvolle Stardust-personage. Runnels is tweevoudig Intercontinental- en zesvoudig Tag Team Champion.
De vrouw van Runnels, ring announcer Eden Stiles (Brandi Runnels), en halfbroer, Goldust (Dustin Runnels), staan momenteel nog onder contract bij WWE.
